Can Lis Residency

Susanne joined Niklas Fanelsa of Atelier Fanelsa and Justine Bell of Djernes & Bell for a research residency at Can Lis, Jørn Utzon’s iconic house on the Mallorcan coast. The Can Lis Residency explored bioregional material cultures, Mediterranean building traditions and climate-responsive design, investigating how local knowledge, craft and place-based building practices can inform contemporary architecture. Supported by the Utzon Foundation and the Danish Arts Foundation, the collaboration reflects on Utzon’s work in Mallorca and its relevance for architectural practice today.
